Making more quilts

I suppose, I have not been a very interesting blogger. I have been at the sewing machine way too much. Last night at Friday night sew, I was able to finish one of my UFO, with being lucky my friend Megan was at the quilt machine and quilted it for me. I am such a lucky girl. I have cut out 3 baby quilts....so it is back sewing again. I need to get 3 of the 4 quilts tops I have completed to the quilter so I can mark those off my UFO list as well. Also I am still binding the big black & white City Girl quilt.

Now if my car would just drive me to work automatically...hummmm
I could work on binding then. Lol.

Until I get time again to add picture(soon).
I will blog then.....

Quilting projects

I completed one and sold another quilt last weekend. They were both baby quilts and I love making them. I have two major projects going on right now. Star quilt blocks for my quilt swap and the Dragonfly Summer quilt for my Aunt. I also have another quilt I finished at the beginning of June with the help of my dear friend Jenny. That one is for my granddaughter Matilda, she will be one year at the end of August. I do need a new idea for a quilt for Kimberly who just turned Three. Oh so many quilts and not enough time.....Luck me, I am working at the MSQC shop this week. I am taking my Janome with me to work tomorrow.
Pictures to post soon!

I am still binding

Why, oh why...since I finished the quilt top, had it back from the quilter, sewed the binding to
the front and started whip stitching it to the back. This is where I have had sewing block!
I want to hand bind the quilt and I want to finish it and yet it is still not completed.
I have since started and completed 4-5 quilt projects.
Oh queen size quilt, you will not win. I will work on you yet!

As I was cruising my blogger for more fun pictures of Spring 2011 Quilt Market, I was not so surprised to see a grin I recognized. I thought this was funny Alan.

Fabricholic, who me?

I went to my friends for a retreat this month and made on quilt top , the brown and green "Patience Corners" below and completed another, my Pointless Wonder. I need to fiqure out the backing and have them quilted. I also have completed two  X & O's baby quilts one shown below in Woodland Wonders and a Pooh fabric with blue trim. I place flannel on the back, so they would be oohh, sooo soft.

I do like the feeling of accomplishment when I complete a project. A friend of mine said a quilter will have so many project going at once. I have in the past have had 2-3, maybe. I now find myself with 11, starting 12 today. I am going through my stash and have all this fabric and am thinking....what am I going to do with this or that. Thank heavens for plastic totes and storage.

Where did all this fabric come from and why is there always more that I want. I have this crazy sickness of "Fabricholicism." Now, if there is truly such a disease, Please, please do not find a cure. I will accept my illness. I am more than sure it will not be fatal and kill me.

You Know You're a Fabricholic when...

1. The employees in the fabric store know your name.
2. The employees in the fabric store invite you to dinner.
3. You have your own parking space at the fabric store.
4. You make your children share a room so you can have a craft room.
5. In your sleep you moan, "Ohhh Alexander Henry."
6. You can tell someone how many yards on a bolt without blinking.
7. You own more than 3 bolts of fabric.
8. You'd rather sew than have sex, eat, sleep or well anything!
9. You can NOT, NOT go a week without buying fabric.
10. Your Favorite place to go is your LQS.

Happy Quilting!

Making stuff for my girly-girls and others

I was inspired by my friend Todd to pay it forward. So, I posted on Facebook to make some handmade gift for friends who responded. Well, I have one quilt top done and have also decided to make my granddaughters pillowcases. Plus make my littlest one a quilt. Now I need to plan 3 more quilts.
what to do, what to do!
I am drawing and planning out a new quilt pattern. It will be basic but bright colors

Work in motion

I find that I have to make time to sew. I have completed two baby quilts and still need to complete the binding on the queen size black quilt. So I started a new quilt class. I hate picking out the fabric, maybe I should have going with the designer's fabric, but it was so not me. I am using browns and creamy reds with gold and greens. some blend and others well we will have to see. I may need more creams in it.

Then today I learned a new block which I will have to try out. I love learning new techniques, it is amazing the shortcuts there are in quilting. I have found I love working with precuts and they do help make some of the pattern sew up so quick and easy.  I have learned so much from my friends at http://tutorials.missouriquiltco.com/

Off to cut some fabric, I am trying a new fast idea shared with me to make another baby quilt!

New year, new projects....ok UFO's I am ready

I start the year out right, sewing. I spent the 31s of December 2010 at Missouri Star Quilt Company working on a mystery quilt. I had it finished by the end of the weekend, well the quilt top. I decided I like the fun pattern, so I am cutting another one out this week and taking it to Friday night sew.
I also have a few UFO's I will turn in on guild night. Our project director is razzing us to push it to the extreme and clean up some projects I have put to the wayside. I guess I need all the push, I can get. Where does the time go, why do I have all these great ideas and started projects that just keep adding up. I am all in!

Happy Quilting!
