I have a Blogger crush

I will be following a fun blog series about  pattern writing. I have found a really fun blogger Cheryl Brickey, Meadow Mist Design http://meadowmistdesigns.blogspot.com/

I have a huge blogger crush on this site. Cheryl is so insightful and inspiring with her designs. I have started one of her quilt patterns and I am ordering another. The Mystery quilt she wrote for 2015 is very ingenuous. So I picked out my colors, I am using Angela Walters- Art Gallery line Athena, dark blues with Norcott's Tuscany line in Gray and Shannon Brinkley's Dryad gold waves.
I have finished My blocks and they are all seen together. This has been a fun quilt to make.   mystery-quilt.html

2015 NYE Mystery Quilt

This Year I designed, wrote then taught a Mystery Quilt on NYE day. I had so much fun with the group I worked with. I love this quilt so much that I have completed a second one. I used 4 charm packs of a design, then 2 charm packs of a solid, with 2 borders- a 2.5" and 4.5". My test quilt was made with Aloha Girl by Fig Tree, a Moda designer. I liked the soft colors with the bold blues and corals. I used a civil war block, Blockade. I replicated it, opposite to build the diamond in the solid color. There is a slanted scrappy square and an hour glass in the center as well. I have decided to make a third quilt as well and reform it back to fabric yardage instead of the precuts. So once again I will dissect the quilt and do the math. Then figure a way to make this quilt less scrappy. I believe I will make the opposite blocks in different colors and make the hour glass in another color as well. I will need to think on this. I will update once I am ready to proceed.

Happy Quilting!!

I have been working on being creative lately. I have limited time to be on my PC.I am making quilts. Last February I Met up with my BFF, Mona, in Florida. Moe has this Idea I need to run 5k races with her. So we did our thing. We have a great time and we hang out, as if we were teenagers again. I am sharing my Valentine present to my BFF. I used the Large 10" Hexy template by Natalie Dawn, a hexy template from Missouri Star Quilt Co.  It goes together so quickly and not Y seams. This is a must have. tool. I would recommend to use it.

So I need to sew.

Since I longarm quilt three days a week, with one of those days being Saturday. I find less sew days available to sew projects. In my down time I have been converting quilt blocks into a pattern design,  building a mystery quilt and finishing my block of the month. I also am taking a Judy Niemeyer paper piecing class. This along with my family keep me busy.

I find designing blocks into a pattern to be fascinating. Half square triangles, stars, pinwheels, snowball, rectangles, squares and hexi shapes all placed together to mix together to piece a lot of fabric to make a quilt. Color, blending, gradation I want to build a quilt to throw on my bed and snuggle with.

I found a new pattern that I want to make, so again I will start a new class in a two weeks. So another project begins, my life as a quilter!

Happy Holidays

Table runners will be set on the table with care, in hopes of platters of cookies or goodies to soon be there.
I will be making my kids favorite Christmas treats this upcoming week. During this time of year, it seems I am always running around and on the go. I want to make a few gifts and treats to share with my family.
So, I am making peanut butter balls, sugar cookies and fudge.

Merry Christmas

Oh My Passwords- What did I do?

You know those passwords, the secret codes that rule our lives. I can never remember all of them.I have too many. So I tried to simplify mine and place them in a secret place. Well, I deleted all of them. Now I am a mess!

I need to re-establish my log on's of the trillion notes that tell me what those all so sophisticated   word-wise uppercase, lowercase letters, symbols and numbers. I will have to re-apply for some passwords and pull from notes on others. It is all about what was going on in my life to give me hints on the requests to apply for new password. I know I can do this, it just is a huge bummer in my life.

Why do I have to be so quick to push buttons, did I really just clear all my info off the screen forever. Sadly, Yes!
